So, this actually happened. I was up at 3 and I hear this pretty warbling. I recorded some.

Blood-boiling refers to lust. Webs of the world is a euphemism for surfing the web, but it took on a more profound statement in the euphemism.

With nightingale comes a reference to Andersen's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nightingale" rel="nofollow">Nightingale</a> (<a href="http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Nightingale_(Andersen)" rel="nofollow">Source</a>). This poem remains true to the import of that poem. Both can be seen as touching on the psychological event of individuation, were the unconscious, the inner voice, of a person is finally allowed to speak to one's conscious self.

A post-poem thought is that the bird my be actually anticipating Sunrise, which, in a way, answers a question from an earlier poem: Dawn (http://davious.org/now/2010/06/dawn/). Perhaps this poem could use a tweak.

The title refers to a bit of an interview when Michael Stipe commented on some footage used in the "Low" video of a young, shirtless man kissing is hand.

At the time I was in a phase of completely allowing depressive thoughts; the realization was that most of the time I was censoring my depressive phase which dismissed, repressed, and left-unprocessed deep emotions; the healthy thing is to allow the feeling of them, the processing, the "body" will unconsciously process them until, like a snap, healing eventually, seemingly miraculously happens; from there, as a whole person, one can more genuinely, solidly engage with the world rather than because waffling or one-foot-in-one-foot-out.

Still, the basic realization is that there is a lot of value and beauty in depressive states or blue states -- and this state comes often -- maybe in half of life like night and day...

If there wasn't goodness in this state, that feeling of not knowing what to do about things, then it would indeed be dearth of a life; but it isn't like that at all; there is actually a lot of beautiful feelings going on, not to mention real processing.
