{"id":1256,"date":"2010-06-10T21:29:43","date_gmt":"2010-06-11T02:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/davious.org\/now\/?p=1256"},"modified":"2024-12-18T17:50:23","modified_gmt":"2024-12-18T22:50:23","slug":"dawn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/davious.org\/now\/2010\/06\/dawn\/","title":{"rendered":"Dawn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Drowsy in the afternoon\n I daydream of how life began\nWhere to begin?\nA fool to set the dial at dawn\n full daylight then\nfifteen minutes beforehand\n affords no preview\nA full hour buys an inkling\n of twilight\u2019s twinkling\n of Daphne\u2019s whispering\n  embracing of the embankments\n  away from Apollo\u2019s attainment\nEven then,\n I have yet to see when\n day articulates its begin\n\nA solitary cloud on the horizon gleams\n the night is brushed into luxuriance by degrees\n the tension of the starry\u2013eyed watchmen\n  and their moonbeams are relieved\nThe horizon is wreathed in ambient light\n out of the blue\n the firmament is established\nan ocean of clouds, rose\u2013imbued\n engulf their first little plume\nfrom the ash of the trees\u2019 leaves\n a remote rebel wind blows\n rekindling an ember which died long ago\na reversal of fate crackles\n the wood births its master\nBeyond the mists, a beam strikes\nBehold the glob: uncontrolled fire\nMy eyes catch her eyelash rays\nheat alights me; I avert my gaze\nknowing dawn\n\nI lumber home to begin my way\n occasionally glaring back\n resenting the triumphant orb\u2019s\n overpowering glory and iridescent morning\nWhat could I do to compare with the making of the day?\n I just bask in it\n\nAll those unanswered sunsets\n each have their sad goodbyes\u2019 bright condolences\nI\u2019ve slumbered in ignorance, abjured the witness of it\nI don\u2019t live here, but somewhere hours hence or thence\n and remain lulling in jet lag, a perpetual guest\n\nNow in my seeking\n I send unsuspecting foxes leaping\nHow natural it fits\n the pace of my body and the strengthening of my wits\n with dawn\u2019s rising, when I attend to it\nHow ready I am\n at the day\u2019s sad forsaking\n to yield to the dream\n of continual awakening<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Drowsy in the afternoon I daydream of how life began Where to begin?
